Why a mid-drive motor? It's the most sophisticated type of assistance; our motors are equipped with a torque sensor. We call it proportional assistance because the power supplied by the motor is proportional to the pressure exerted by the user on the pedals. That is, if I exert as much force as possible on the pedals, on a steep climb, for example, the motor will send all its power; whereas if I press the pedals lightly, the system detects that I don't need as much power and the assistance will be less.
